While the likes of Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Rakhi Sawant and Mallika Sherawat are quite habituated to controversies, the name of Rani Mukherjee cannot be exactly associated with this term.
Rani has been demure and placid throughout her career and hasn’t been in serious controversies. However, her latest film promo of ‘No One Killed Jessica’ has landed her amidst gossips and troubles. Indian Censor Board has seriously objected to her middle finger scene in of the pivotal scenes of the film (as seen in the trailers).
Since, the middle finger sign is indecent and inappropriate, it has been deemed unfit for family audience. Hence, the censor members have asked the film makers to blur her finger in that scene.
This has upset the film’s director Raj Kumar Gupta who is unhappy that the scene hasn’t been given its due importance and is being considered objectionable. He has stated, “I am very disappointed. The trailer should be seen in the right context and not in isolation.”
In the film Rani shall essay the character of a powerful journalist who handles the case of Jessica Lal murder. Besides the middle finger scene, Rani has also been bombarded with accusations of smoking and using foul language. Clearly, the Censor Board is still not ready for boldness or blatant rendition of facts!
