Role of religion and ethics, played by Congress

During the discussion of individual reform proposals which turned furious on Wednesday because church doctrines and biblical passages were appealed for support. Thus in this immigration debate that turned out to be explosive, the role played by Congress was of ethics and religion.
The law made to deal with illegal immigration of passage of Arizona is surrounded with controversies. The center stage of these controversies exposed on this issue a philosophical division. As claimed by a Democratic Congress woman that they are poles apart in terms of philosophy. During the hearing of House Judiciary subcommittee, this explosive debate occurred.
A leader of the Southern Baptist Convention, Richard Land; dean of the Liberty University law school , Mathew Staver ;from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Bishop Gerald Kicanas; and fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, James Edwards Jr. participated in debate.
As said by Kicanas, dignity and basic rights of millions of individuals and families are affected by immigration so ultimately it’s a humanitarian issue. He even said that their present system of immigration has failed in moral test meant for the protection of person’s dignity and fundamental rights.
